Hey, I have had some pretty bad
acne in my life (and still do every now and then) but my skin has been clearing
up. I now have some bad red scars on my face. Does anyone know of a good product
that will even my skin tone quickly? It looks gross, and this summer I don't
want to rely on concealer to feel comfortable with myself.
Mederma.
Its scar medicine.
Costs around $18.
It's the best out there on the market.
In a month, your scars probably won't even be there. :)
here's something I found about acne on a website and it hopefully will be an
awesome help to you:
How To Reduce An Acne Problem
You shouldn’t squeeze, pick, scratch, or rub your skin as it makes the problem
worse, and it might even cause scarring.
Regularly shampoo your hair, and try to keep it off your face if possible -
especially at night.
Keep a food diary to work out if you are one of the few people whose acne gets
worse if they eat certain things.
Exercise regularly to get the old blood flowing, and make sure you get a wash as
soon after as possible.
Avoid unnecessarily touching your face.
If possible, try to minimize your stress levels.
Avoid getting sunburned.
Change your wash cloth every day, as bacteria can grow on damp cloth.
Wash your face twice a day with a gentle soap like Dove or Lever 2000.
Always rinse really well with lots of water.
Only wear makeup on special occasions, and then make sure you remove it
completely.
Granular facial scrub can make acne worse by aggravating the skin.
spai_07 !
One thing you shouldn't do to deal with acne scars is load up your face with
masks or fancy lotions — these won't help and may irritate your skin further,
making the scars red and even more noticeable.
If you have a red or brownish mark on your face that you got from a bad zit,
have no fear — it will eventually fade, just like the scars you had on your
knees after you fell off your bike when you were a kid. However, it may take 12
months or longer — so your best bet is to avoid these kinds of marks by not
squeezing or popping your zits, no matter how tempting it may seem.

Can seek for doctor on some cream applications to reduce scaring etc...If not, u
can try Vitamin E cream, it helps to lighten scars...Coz I believe u have
sensitive too and is better not to use those out from the pharmancies shelf...
Can try Avene products..it is more for sensitive skin types..
I answered your other question about the cystic acne.
You said it itched sometimes?
Maybe your concealer is irritating it and you might need a moisturizer. (Or a
different one)
You should try Mederma. It works verry well.
If not go to your Dermatologist they can definetley prescribe you something for
your skin type!

Irregular periods?
I'm fifteen and have
been getting my period for over 2 years. But even though it's evened out a bit,
it's still pretty irregular. It comes at different times every month, lasts for
different lengths, the heaviness of the flow is never predictable, and only in
the past few months have I stopped skipping a month.
I use a combination of pads tampons. I am a virgin.
Is this normal?
It can take up to 3 years for your cycle and periods to become
regular.

Thyroid tumors/growths, I have heard the largest percent is not dangerous: read:?
My friend is worried that the
lumps they are checking on her thyroid may be cancerous, but when I had thyroid
cancer 20 years ago, and had 1/2 my thyroid out, they told me that thyroid
cancer is rarely dangerouos. Is this still true ?
I had thyroid cancer, and I have found a great site for you to share with your
friend...two in fact. one is www.thyca.org, the national thyroid cancer site,
and it has great references to endos and surgeons (even if it is not cancer, you
want a great doctor). and the second is the yahoo health group for thyroid, and
the one for thyroid cancer (thyca)
there are 4 kinds of thyroid cancer, and two are very rare and extremely
dangerous. one was the kind that killed the supreme court judge afew years
back...the other two kinds are treatable. But not always easy, and yes, survival
rates for those two is about 95%. As you know, it is still the big C.
and as for you, are you still getting follow ups? protocals for thyroid cancer
have changed over the years, and now, they would have probably taken out the
whole thyroid, and if your cancer was over 1 cm they would suggest radiation to
kill off the rest of the thyroid tissue so you could be monitored by TG blood
tests. I hope that you are still following up on your health...just because it
has not reoccured yet, does not mean that at some point it will not. we have had
two ladies, one 20 years out and one 11 who just had it pop back up again.
I wish your friend and you good luck. please visit these sites.
I had thyroid cancer 11 years ago. Yes, it's true - it's seldom terminal. My
great Aunt also had thyroid cancer 80 years ago was completely cured of it.
It's one of the least aggressive cancers the most easily treatable. But - some
people still die from it, but rarely.
Do you live in the States? I ask, because I'm in Britain my cancer care seems
a little different to yours. After taking out 1/2 my thyroid gland, finding it
was cancerous, they had to do another operation to remove the other half, as
they didn't know how far the cancer has spread. Then I had radioactive iodine
because it showed lots of uptake, they did it again to make sure there was no
thyroid gland left.
My friend in Florida was only given radioactive iodine once. i guess because she
had no medical insurance they gave her the bare minimum (in Britain, all
healthcare is free). 5 years later, her cancer had returned. She was treated
again I hope she's ok now.
My biggest problem with thyroid cancer wasn't the cancer - it's that the
operation knocked out my parathyroid glands. So I have to take thyroxine
alphacalicidol daily they've never been able to get it right for me.
Also, one of the biggest risks in a thyroidectemy is that it can bruise or
destroy the nerves to your vocal chords. It can leave you voiceless! My nerves
were bruised. I could only whisper for 3 months, couldn't read stories to my
kids for 6 years had to give up singing teaching. My voice is normal again
after 10 years!

What should i do...?
ok so the new kidd at
my skewl that everyone liked asked me out his second day here and naturally i
said yes but thats not long enough for him to already kno me and i cnt jus blurt
out that i have diabetes he doesnt hang wit many kidds mostly the jocks who all
kno that i ahve it cuz there my frenn and it doesnt *** up normal in many convos
n/e way and i want him to kno in case we r eva on a date er sumtin and i pass
out with low bloodsugar or sumthin so he knos wut to do or to tell parmedics wen
they get there even if he doesnt kno wut to do...how should i tell him i mean we
have only been datin for one week
just tell him you have diabetes, there is nothing to be ashamed of. If he really
likes you he will still ask you out with or without diabetes.
Just tell him that if something were to happen that you have diabetes and that
he would need to let someone know. If your like me you can feel it coming on and
know that you need to get something to eat or drink really quick to avoid this
from happening. It's really not something that would harm your relationship with
him. You never know he may have it also.
Honey, I cannot read your writing.
Please use complete sentences and use the spell check.
Thanks.
From what I can make out, you need to tell everyone you're with that you have
diabetes. It is essential for your life.
Why would you not eat when necessary to pretend to some guy you do not have
diabetes ? That's harming yourself and will cost $500+ for an ambulance ride.
If you are old enough to date, you are old enough to take care of your medical
needs.
I agree with everyone else here, Sofy. You really have nothing to worry about in
telling this boy that you're diabetic.
Be well, Princess, and be proud of who you are and what you are.
If someone that you think something of can't see past a medical condition then
it's them that has the problem, not you.
I have had diabetes since I was 6 and I'm 15 now and i had bf's b4 and they
actually thought it was really cool like before I had an insulin pump the guys
would be so interested and I would actually let them give me shots and take my
blood sugar
and if he doesn't like you because u have diabetes he is totally not worth your
time
Yeah, be like "I have to talk to you about something serious...." and then
explain to him what it is and why it isn't something he should worry about but
in case something should happen....
Keep granola bars near for low blood sugar. They work good. The sugar gives you
fast help and the grains give you long lasting help.
I'd just tell him... If he decide's he doesn't like you because of it, then he's
really just not worth it, or as I say, not even worth a used test stip... ;-)
lol.
Don't be ashamed of having diabetes..you can't help it. Just tell him.
i agree with cheeky take nick j. hes a wonderful person and alot of girls love
him and he has diabetes so its fine!
Yeah, understand your anxiety.
My suggestions:
1. Wear a tag around your neck. I believe paramedics are trained to look out for
it read your condition(s) from there. There are medical companies that can
give you a proper thing to put around your nectk
2. Carry with sugars. Drug store sells prepared sugars for emergency
hypoglycemia. For myself I carry dried dates with me. Two to three dates chewed
swallowed enough for me to recover. You will feel miserable as you get into
hypoglycemia would go for it. Protect yourself. Just in csse. Actually if you
look after yourself. Get treatment. Be dutiful. You would not even need this.
3. Dating skill. Yeah, no need to tell on the 1st few dates. Let it come
naturally. Bring up the matter as the time comes.
4. Be more confident. Diabetes is not such a frightening condition. You do not
just drop dead or comatose. There are signs you can learn to cope with it.
Test your blood sugar reqularly learn your condition. Hypoglycemia symtomatic.
You will feel weak and giddy before it's onset. Symtoms are giddyness, headache,
tireness, confusion, slurry speech, lack of co-ordination, inability to think
straight. These things come about long before a patient goes comatose. If unsure
suck sweets. Or better yet eat your dates or raisins or some dried fruits. If
you are near a cafe. Drink a glass of Milo. Your date wouldn't notice what you
are doing.

PCOS question?
I ahve poly cystic ovaries,
and only get my period every 3 - 4 months. I got told i wont be able to have
kids
I just got my period now, and it was 5 1/2 months after my last one.
Does this mean the PCOS is getting worse?
I don't think PCOS gets worse. But first of all I think you need to find a new
doctor if your doctor said you won't be able to have kids. Women with PCOS have
kids all the time. And if your not ovulating the doctor can prescribe you
medication that will help you.
You NEED to go on birth control pills. Not having your period for more then 3
months puts you more at risk for cancer. When the lining in your uterus grows
and grows and grows every month and is not being shed (we call this a period)
abnormal cells can grow.
You might have go through different birth control brands to find the one that
works for you but I strongly suggest you get on dim pills.
(Birth Control helps regulate your period if you didn't know)
Whoever has said you won't have kids is full of it. It may be more difficult,
but PCOS does not always make your infertile. With correct treatment, you can
get pregnant.
But anyway, you should look into birth control pills or metformin. Both have
been successful in treating PCOS symptoms. The pill gives you pretty
instantaneous results for your period. The met is used for weight gain and
related problems but it often helps women get their periods
going.

Is it normal to have two iris colors in both eyes?
Is it really normal to have two colors in both eyes? I heard of
people having a color in one eye and another color in the other, but not two
colors in each eye.
My iris color for my eyes are labeled as blue... and that is what I believed for
a long time; however, after I got an eye exam, my optometrist said that my eyes
are both blue and green. She said that my eyes appear more green than blue, but
this was inside a building.
When I had a look for myself my irises did in fact have green in them... On the
inside around the pupil. The outer color is blue. Do other people have this? I
know that I am currently the only one in my family that has this effect in my
eyes.
Yes, some people have this condition called Heterochromia! It's rare but it
doesn't mean you're going to die!
its actually somewhat typical. Blue eyed people should wear sunglasses. (you
havent any protection from the sun at all, the blue eyes are just lack of
pigment. think you have prblems? try someone with gray eyes.) Get some sunscreen
and glasses and RELAX. All your family has the sme "malady" they just have the
pigments to hide it.
yeah that's normal, probably more common than having just one
color

pre-menstrual syndrome. some girls get it but not all of them do. you get it
before your period. some girls get cramps, stomache ache, bloated, headache,
mood swings.etc.
pre mestrual syndrom. aka, before girls get their periods they get all cranky
and hungry and annoyed at the world becasue of all the hormones racing thorhg
their bodies!!!
it's pre menstral system. It's when a girl bleeds right before she ovulates. The
symptons are different for every girl though aside form the beeding and
chocolate cravings.
It's an awful horrible thing especially PMDD, type it in google and read up, i

What difference does it make with hormones in birth control?
Different birth control have different levels of hormones?
is that right?
whats the difference between more powerful dosage of hormoes in birth control
than low.
how does this effect you ?
Yes, this is right.
Different levels work for different people for a number of reasons. All doses
are equally effective at preventing pregnancy.
Lower dose pills may have less side effects (like nausea, weight gain, etc.) but
may not regulate periods and/or cause break through bleeding throughout the
month. Higher doses may have more side effects, but may better regulate (or even
eliminate) periods.
Women have different reactions to all hormone levels, so it is hard to say how
any given pill would effect any given woman. Most clinicians start with a
low-mid dose pill and then change based on the patient's feedback.
Hope that helps!

I only burn 500 cals at the gym does that mean I have to eat less than 500 cals to lose weight?
I do one hour of cardio
at the gym everyday because I was told that I shouldnt workout for more than an
hour otherwise I'll start burning muscle which will slow my metabolism.
The thing is I'm only a beginner and I cant burn more than 500 calories/hour,
does that mean I won't lose weight unless I eat less than 500 cals/day??
Your body burns calories every minute of the day by keeping you alive...it burns
calories to keep your brain functioning, your organs working, your heart
pumping, when you walk, when you stand up, etc...So depending on your height,
weight, and activity level, your body is already burning calories. I'm just
taking a guess, but I'm guessing your probably a teenage girl, so your body is
probably burning about 1,500 calories a day. So you need to eat about 1,700
calories a day to maintain your current weight. If you're burning 500 calories
extra each day by working out, then your body is negative 500 calories. It takes
negative 3,500 calories to burn one pound, so you would lose a pound about every
four days. You can double that by eating 1,200 cals a day and continuing to burn
500, and you will lose a pound every two days! Any less calories then that is
dangerous. It will send your body into conservation mode and you will burn way
less calories when you exercise and everything you do eat will be stored as fat,
and you will also retain water like crazy! So eat 1,200 cals, burn 500 cals, and
lose 4 pounds a week and 20 pounds in a month!!!!
Your body naturally burns 1,200-1,400 calories a day even if your just sitting
or laying down. All your organs everything burn calories but the more muscle
you have the more calories are burned the more active you are the more
calories you burn. Just sleeping burns 60 calories an hour.
So you need atleast 1,200 calories a day or your body will go into starvation
mode. When it goes into starvation mode everything you eat will turn into fat
thats why you need 1,200 calories or more a day.
You'll only burn muscle is you haven't fueled your body. The average person
burns 1200 to 1500 calories per day. If you eat fewer than 1200 calories, you
will most likely GAIN weight. Your body says," OMG, I'm working so hard and
there's no fuel.... I better hold onto what's here really tight so I don't
starve to death!!"
Get at least 1200 calories a day. If you're burning 500 calories everyday at the
gym and taking in 1200, you WILL lose weight. Make sure you drink lots of water.
Being dehydrated makes you bloated and heavier. I reccomend eating a snack of at
least 200-300 calories about half an hour before you work out to kick up your
metabolism and fuel your muscles. Check out
http://betterhealthandfitness.webs.com for articles on health and fitness.
no you need to find out how many calories you need...you can do an online test
and it will tell you...search BMR test on google
your mistaken with the 500 calorie defecite rule...it means subtract 500
calories from whatever your body needs to maintain its same weight
for me my BMR is 3156 so for me to lose 1lb every week i would need to eat 2656
calories a day not negative 500 calories a day
You burn about 1200 calories a day if you just sit there and do no to little
movement. Add how many calories you burn from exercise to that and that's what
you should eat less than. Plus, if you walk a lot, etc, that's more calories
burned.
NO go to google and type in BMR!!! not bmi,, bmr... and do that and than thats
how many calories you burn without doing anything and then add 500 calories to
that and divid it by 7 and that will be how many pounds you burn in a week!!!
The calories in and calories out equation is a big lie, there is no evidence for
it,hormones, genetics and carbs are the big players in fat loss and gain.
no way if your eatin 500 then burning 500 your body will be surving on nothing
meaning you wont be able to fucntion properly
at the gym everyday because I was told that I shouldnt workout for more than an
hour otherwise I'll start burning muscle which will slow my metabolism.

Getting braces 2morrow?
soo any tips?
i have some questions
1 can i go back to school
2 does it hurt the process of it
and thats all tips plzz
hey, im 14 and have braces.
i got them put on about 1 year ago and boy can i tell you i was scared! i thought that i would look ugly and people wouldnt like me, and its ok to think this at first. but really, its no big deal. i havent lost my popularity at all! there are so many kids these days with braces, and alot with bad teeth, so for one, be grateful you are getting them because im sure there are kids out there who want them.
yes you can go back to school, honestly dont worry about it. if anyone pays you out, just say well at least i can afford them! and also be confident about them because that way people will admire you for it.
to be honest, it does hurt the tinest bit. lets put it this way; its uncomfortable but not painful. they will feel a bit weird at first, but you will get used to them and it fixes your teeth very quickly too.
just imagin how good you will look once you get them off!
good luck =]
No lies. Getting them on was fine (just tasted gross) Getting them tightened Hurt like hell. the first week i woke up crying because f the pain and i have a high pain thresh hole. But that also depends on how bad your teeth are as mine had to be turned around and pulled in alot. Get a rubber toy (baby toy) to choo while you sleep the presure helps alot. your dentist will tell you alot of information and tips, follow them.
Keep aspirin or tylenol around. You probably can't just carry such things at school, but see what you can do, check at the nurse's office, etc. cause it may not hurt much to have them put on, but every time you go for a tightening, they will. And you're gonna want some pain meds. every four hours, almost every time.
And, yeah, you'll go back to school
when i got braces when i was younger, as far as i remember it didnt hurt. maybe feel alittle uncomfortable at first meaning that ur not used to having them in ur mouth and it takes time to get used to BUT AS FAR AS PAIN OR ANYTHING IT DOES NOT HURT .
hey... i have braces. i had them on since i was 12. it hurts when the dentist tries to adjust it, but u're gonna get used to the pain after a few days. You just have to pray to God. God bless!
Yes of course you can go back to school and during the process it will not hurt but before you go eat as much as possible because about an hour or 2 they will hurt so good luck

Do gelatin pills really make your nails harder? :)?
Yes they do. I used to have paper thin nails that just broke all the
time. I started eating Jello or taking the gelatin pills, and now my nails are
very strong. Try it. You have nothing to lose.
i don't know. i've heard prenatal vitamins will help your nail and hair grow
stronger, don't really know about that either.
Yes...when I was younger I did this...it made my nails pretty strong, although I
still had breaks now and then, which is normal.
the only thing in geletin that could is the extra protien.
Yes. They will. Or drinking Knox plane gelatan

Lipobind hoodia what the different?
how do
they work and do they work? and what's the different betweem the 2?
Hoodia suppresses your appetite so that you eat less.
Lipobind attaches itself to the fat that you eat and makes sure that up to 25%
of it goes undigested and passes through you.
If you eat out of boredom, comfort etc and not because of hunger, then hoodia
probably wouldn't help since it doesn't matter if you have an appetite or not.
It does work though, if you get the right stuff (there are a lot of imitation
"hoodia extract" pills out there that don't actually work, so make sure) so it
could be effective as a weight loss aid as you'll eat less. Personally I use it
in the evenings only as that's when I tend to binge otherwise, out of habit. It
still requires a bit of willpower but at least I'm not hungry.
Lipobind didn't work for me, to be honest I don't think it absorbs enough fat to
be effective - only 25%, which is reducing your intake but not by very much.
You'd have to use it for a looong time, and it's pretty expensive.
*I'd post a link to the hoodia website here, but I don't want to look like I'm
advertising or something, but if you type "hoodia" and "msn" into Google you
should get an MSN article that directs you to the right place ;)
I've tried similar diet pills in the past and they didn't do anything
for me.
I did finally have some good success getting rid of my beer gut by
using a program I found at
http://fatstomachworkout.com/
It's been real steady fat loss, and the workouts are the best I've
ever done. Makes me feel like I worked really hard.
Has some great quick meal plans too, which helped since I don't have
much time to cook. Good luck!

The Perfect Push
I just got it today. It was
$20, so I figured I would give it a shot. I have it, and I can defiantly see
that it tires you out more than a regular push-up (Which is good). My question
is how many should I do a day? I don't really understand the chart too well, so
how much do you think I should do? I want to get big rather fast (I know it's
not a miracle machine for $20, but I want to do the hardest work-outs possible).
How much should I do per day?
Thanks in advance.
first week-- do only what you can do without forcing yourself
second week--- add 5
third week --------add 10
fourth week---- do as many as you can without forcing yourself and keep on
adding 10% whenever you get confortable with the current work load.
THIS WILL ELIMINATE INJURIES WHICH ARE COSTLY AND SLOW DOWN YOUR PROGRESS
Only you can tell how much your body can handle, once you've reached a certain
point, you should stop and let your body rest or else you'll pull or injure a
muscle.
20? The ones I looked at are 40. Where'd you get it?

Planned Parenthood and Birth Control?
Hi, I went to planned parenthood to get a pap test done in 10/7. At the time they asked if I wanted birthcontrol pills and I told them no. I would like to get on birth control now. Will I have to have another exam? Oh, and I am moving to another state, will they be able to transfer my records to the PPH near me?
A pap is only needed once a year, but they will likely require a pregnancy test. They will give you enough to get to October when your pap is due/
And, yes, they will transfer your record and prescription. In 2001, I moved from Washington State to New York State and did exactly that.
Having been to a PPH before I can tell you that they will give you any type of birth control that you need, they will actually just educate you on the proper way to use it/let you know the differences of the birth control, and give you information about what changes to expect. Aside from the educating they might take a pregnancy test just to make sure you're not pregnant. Let them know you're moving and they can transfer your file.
They might not make you have another pap but they will require you to have an office visit. I used to get bc there and when I wanted to switch to the patch they made me come in for an office visit.
I'm sure they can move your records to another office.
yeah, they can help you
but if not birth control is worth it

Is it fine if I sleep late and wake up late also?
Well to be specific.
I sleep at 12midnight
but I wake up 10AM in the morning
so totally, I have 10 hours of sleep everyday.
Is it fine or I should sleep earlier?
Will it lose my weight?(I'm skinny)
its not healthy to go to sleep late and wake up late too. What you should do is
go to sleep between 8Pm-10:30Pm and wake up between 6Am-9Am.It will improve
you're health habbits and will make you feel better.
10 hours of sleep... wow, your life must be great! most people get 6-7 hours of
sleep on average, even less, so consider yourself blessed. first of all, dont
you feel like your sleeping away your entire day? you sleep 10 hours, you work
(or should be working) at least 8 hours, that only leaves you with 6 hours to
get ready for work, eat dinner, spend time with friends/family, etc... thats
probably why you are so skinny. your not giving yourself enough time to do
anything. you probably dont eat 3 meals a day, most people dont. the
reccommended amount of sleep is 7-8 hours. thats really all your body needs.
more or less than that can leave you tired and crabby. sleeping a lot is not
healthy for anyone. being awake and active (while still getting the reccommended
amount of sleep) is what keeps you healthy. theres really no need to sleep
earlier, if you do most of your things in late evening, but if you go to sleep
at midnight, try to wake up 8 hours later. set an alarm if you have to. your day
will seem longer too...
are you asking if your sleeping to much?
Personally I don't think so, but this is coming from a person who averages 12
hrs a sleep a day. BUT I also have a chronic illness that makes me very tired
and fatigued.
I figure if your getting things done in the day that need to be done and you
have some what of a social life and you are holding down a job, No your not
sleeping to much. HOWEVER if your not working and not really doing much of
anything, you might be sleeping to much, which could be a sign of a medical or
mental problem.

That's funny, I just got that twice. But that was because I clicked on the
"Date" option at the top.

My nose is curved, i.e. the partition between the nostrils is curved on one side. Is this rare? Any treatment?
It causes breathing problems. I have to sleep only on one side to
allow respiration.
It is very common. You can go here to learn more:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deviated_se...
That's what called a deviated septum, and it's not at all that uncommon. Only treatment for that that I'm aware of is surgery, sometimes referred to as a nose job.

I love that she's still got a real body in Hollywood rather than being a stick thin size 0. I know she's a US4/6 (she said it in an interview). I’m a US size 7/8. But Katie is heaps taller than me, she's about 170cm and I'm about 162cm.
Can anyone tell me how I can get to her size (US4/6)? Also, how can I achieve a toned and sculpted body like hers but still have that womanly shape? I don’t want to become a total stick insect.
well, im happy that you have realistic idea of your self. Eating and working out are key. people expect to shed 20 pounds in no time flat without any work. you can't just cure a life time of bad habbits in two weeks. if you go on a extreame diet your get burned out and so does your body. just be the best you can be. eat right and take care of your self. you don't have far to go. life is too short to to hate your self. whats fun is i set up goal weigh and every 5 pounds i loose i set up a reward. 1m 145 and my goal weight is 120. I want to loose 25 pounds in three months. when i reach it im going on a jean shopping spree.
You realize those pictures don't show what they really look like.
A lot of celebrities are actually quite plain when they don't have their makeup on and what is more those pics aren't that real, they have been manipulated.
Your striving to be something that doesn't exist.
I suggest you find a more natural beauty to help you lose weight, then you won't be disappointed
Your exercise regime is a good start; cut down on calories a bit and lose a few pounds. I don't think that you will ever be a runway model, but you don't look bad now and could even look better.
Get Wii Fit, also just keep doing toning exercises, watch what you eat and make sure you don't stress alot.
Honestly I don't think you need to lose weight..
but if you want to try eating healthier and maybe do yoga/pilates like someone else said or running or something.. and sit-ups maybe.
you look gorgeous!just do lots of pilates and a daily 30 minute brisk walking routine added with a low carb diet to flatten your tummy..you will look Hot in no time!good luck!
actually you will be very surprised how big she was before. she was REALLLLL chunky...she was so chunky when I saw her in Grey's anatomy...i didn't realize who she was. she was in a movie with denise richards call valentine or something like that..she wasn't always this sculpted! anyways I think for you to achieve her tone/sculpted body like her is do plenty of yoga/pilates....
Girl why cant u just make peace with how u look? Why are you comparing yourself to other people??I would advise you to just exercise regular and make exercising part of ur daily routine but dont obsess with soon you are boung to start noticing improvement.I think that u need to relax and not be so impatient because it wont happen overnite!

Want to increase the amount of push ups i can do...?
My question is, would my progress be better if i did fast push ups
or slow ones? (obviously not ridiculously fast or slow and my form is not
compromised either way)?
Slow allows the body to strain for longer. Do them until fatigued and cant go no
more and then bend your legs so your knees are on the floor not your toes and
then do them some more for maximum strength and size increase. Try various
different press-ups as well.
Depents on what kind of muscles you are training.
You can train the: Massa muscle or Strength muscle.
Massa muscle is just to look big strong with big arms
Strength muscle is just not very big arms but strong.
Fast pushups for the strength muscle.
Slow pushups for the massa muscle.
And a best way to pushup is to aim your fingertips to eachother so your fingers
are facing your head.
Goodluck!
Going slower for a long time is better than going fast for a short period.
Try to do as many pushups as you can about three times a week (leaving a day
inbetween if you can). Eat or drink protein (fish, red meat or protein
suppliments) to help your muscles build strength.
If you keep it up for a month or so, you might want to look into more proper
methods and other exercises, to keep your muscles balanced. Just do an internet
search for starting bodybuilding for simple routines.
IDK its hard to anwser that

Will yaz make my ovarian cyst smaller like normal birth control????????help?
does it have the same effect?
Yes, it could because of the hormones in the medication but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say. In the mean time here's the link to a site that could be of even more help:

Quit smoking?
I tried to quit smoking
today, but I'm a sucker I guess, this is like my fifth time trying. I really
want to quit but I just go crazy inside when I don't smoke. This sucks, never
smoke.
I quit after many years, have been free for over 2 years now.
First off, what one guy already told you...american spirit.
first thing change to those never smoke anything else.
cut out hundreds o chemicals that your body doesnt need and makes it more
addictive and poisonous.
The way I finally quit.: I picked a date, which was my birthday for easy
reference, also to give myself the present of healthy lungs. I chose it like 5
months in advance. The rule I gave myself was that I could smoke all I wanted
until my birthday, and by that date I would never smoke again. I told everybody
that I knew, family, friends, and professionally, that I would quit by that
date. Then my pride was entangled with that goal so I could not fail. Sometimes
when we state something, like we wiull quit smoking, there just isnt a high
enough level of committment. For my personality, this was the magic way. I didnt
feel deprived because I smoked all I wanted, and every time I did I announced my
quit date. Of all the people I told, only a couple doubted me, but their doubt
made my will even stronger.
I also did stuff like worked on reducing the amount I smoked to make it easier
to drop it, and not aqllowing myself to smoke indoors, I smoked outside with a
special jacket, to keep the smell off my clothes. I learned some other things,
deep things during this time, which I will share with you if you are interested
and contact me by email.
Do it, quit. You wont regret it.
My mom quit cold turkey. You force yourself to never buy them, or you try to
find a reason to put it off and you'll never have any to smoke when you want to.
You can also try gradually getting off of them. Say you currently smoke a pack a
day, cut back to half that amount until you are comfortable with that level cut
back again until you eventually feel you can stop.
Nicotine patches might also help, and again just gradually cut back.
Those are the 3 best suggestions I can come up with. Whatever you do don't put
it off, start today or else for the rest of your life you'll be telling yourself
you can quit tomorrow. Good Luck!
first of all I just want to say: That's great! you want to quit smoking!
next I think you should go and talk to your pharamcist on how you can quit
somking. He/she can suggest methods that you can try to help you quit. Also,
from what I've lerned in school when you want to smoke first you should try and
destract yourself, like go and brush your teeth everytim you want to smoke or
try and slove a puzzle. I also learned that if you drink cold water slowly when
feel like somking you will lose the urge to smoke. I don't know how it works but
it effect a part of the brain to help you out with not smoking. I hope this
helps. but you should seek professional help with that quest of yours it may
seem hard at times, but you're doing it to have better health =)
yes, i've been there.
i guess it was easier for me to quit because i'm a minor and it wasnt always
easy getting a hold of them. and it wasnt always easy smoking them. for me.. it
just got old trying to hide it. but for you, if you cant do it cold turkey.. try
some of the gum or the patch. there are a lot of things available to help you
out. but boy do i know what you mean.. when you think everything is going well
you think about it for 2 seconds and want that quick fix. try to keep busy. tell
all your friends not to let you even think about it. and if you do think about
it.. then talk about it! tell someone how badly you want one but how you know
you can't. good luck.
This is easier than you think, and thats the main thing you need to know.
You were not born with a cigarette, so there for you do not need to die by them
eh?
Whenever you want a cigarette, distract yourself, you can drink water, treat
yourself with chocolate or...
Take your thumb and index finger of either hand, do you know that flap of skin
between them? Use your thumb and index finger to gently press this skin on the
other hand between the thumb and index finger.
Press gently or a little more hard (DO NOT BRUISE YOURSELF!!) until you feel the
craving pass.
You can count in between too.
This has actually helped my friend who smoked for 20 years quit.
Good luck I know you can do this!
first, try switching to "american spirit" cigarettes. it won't fulfill your
cravings like marbolo or camel, because american spirit is natural tobacco and
does not contain additives and all that crap. but it'll help you cope. then
slowly, little by little, reduce the amount of american spirit cigarettes, and
eventually you can be smoke free.
Just quit completely.
I began college a few years ago. Before that, I used to drink pop/soda. However,
in college I drank coffee to keep myself awake. I didn't want to drink pop when
I eat lunch in the cafeteria because I didn't want to get too much caffeine from
coffee+soda. So I quit drinking soda and started drinking water. I no longer
have a craving for soda. It got cleared from my system. I probably drink one
soda once every few months.
it's so hard!! keep trying though, you can do it! i quit for a year, then
started back up over the new year... aaarrrgggeee!!! the way i did it the first
time was to take a vacation of at least 5 days, get lots of munchies, gum, candy
and mints and plant yourself in front of the t.v.... 5 days of overeating is
better than a lifetime of smoking!!
well please dont give up. my mom and dad smokes and i cant stand it. it makes me
wanna cry everytime she lites a cig. because then shes on breath closer to
dieing. i relly dont want to be a kid with no parents. and if you have kids im
sure they feel the same way as i do. even if you dont im sure your friends and
family feel that way to.
change it for anoyher habbit.
instead of goin outside for a smoke go for a peice of gum , or jog or someting u
wouldent like, like when ever u want a smoke do 5 pushups and then u will
eventually hate it and stop tinin abvout it
For a good strategy for this see smoking on this webpage below. With what they
add to tobacco, it is now almost impossible to stop.
http://www.phifoundation.org/cure2.html
try eating a wasabi pea every time you feel the urge for a cigarette. it worked
for me. Trust me, I highly suggest it.
Trying to do it on your own can be pure hell. You can go to your doctor and get
medications that will help relax you so you can overcome the cravings.
get somebody to put a hair in a half of your cigs and more and more over time
the taste will be utterly disgusting but you'll quit
start off slowly start by smoking 3 a day.. than when your used to it 2.. than
1.. than none! its a slow process ur addiction wont go away in one day!
You have no realy method.
See your doctor about how to pack up and that may help.
MAKE YOUR SELF STOP! that might work.
try nicotene free, the patch or the gum. try a hotline. try something else. best
of luck
nicotine gum
try putting a pack ni front of you and try to not be bothered by it
throw them away

Weird bump?
I have really fair skin so
every little thing shows. I had this thing that looked like a freckle but it
wasn't flat just like a small small bump. I picked it off and my skin stared to
bleed a little. It doesn't hurt but now after 2 weeks it is still there and is
red but has not gotten bigger or smaller. What is it and how do I get rid of it.
just let it be.
it will go away!
good luck!

How long after herpes infection to the eyes does the first outbreak occur?
I'm not asking whether I have it, I'm not
asking what to do, I'm not asking what I should've done, I just want to know how
long before I should see definite signs of ocular herpes. Thanks, everyone for
your answers!
It takes aproximately 3-14 days after the initial infection for herpes viral
keratitis to present with signs and symptoms but this also depends on your
immune system, it's intactness and efficiency and the preferred site of the
virus, which in the case of HSV-1, is the mouth and face. So it could take
longer for you to see the initial outbreak.
The first thing you should know is that the outbreak is unilateral, that is, it
occurs in one eye at a time. It will start out red with sudden severe pain, a
scratchy feeling on the surface of the eye and (depending on the precise site of
the outbreak) blurred vision. Be on the lookout for complications - stromal
keratitis, iridocyclitis, corneal ulcers and sinusitis, to name four.
If you are able, get antiviral treatment that includes oral
acyclovir.

Sleeping Problems, Insomnia? Is my schedule to crammed? Herbal(Tea, Marijuana) vs Synthetic(Ambien, Lunesta)?
Well, I
am a 19 year old SOBER dude from Cali who seems to have trouble falling asleep,
and staying asleep. I go to school from 5pm to midnight and I usually get home
around 1am. I take a shower and hop in bed. I'll watch tv until I feel a little
sleepy then I kill the lights(usually around 2-2:30 am or so). With the lights
off I lay there unable to fall asleep for sometimes up to 2 horus. Even though I
feel tired I just cant seem to fall asleep. Once I actually do fall asleep I
wake up every 1-2 hours for no reason and then it takes about 15 minutes to doze
off again. This happens twice to three times a night and then i have to wake up
at 10am and do as much hw as i can before my internship, which is from noon to
3pm. Then I hit the road to get to class at 5 and the cycle repeats(keep in mind
I live in LA, traffic is horrible.) Ive tried natural stuff like teas and
melatonin but they only worked for a few days. I want to take something herbal
rather than synthetic. Any suggestions?
Foods rich in Tryptophan will help induce natural sleep and aid in reducing
anxiety and tension.
Avoid caffeine for a few hours before bedtime too.
foods rich in Tryptophan are ~ bananas, cottage cheese, milk, meat, fish,
turkey, bananas, dried dates, peanuts and all protein rich foods .............
turkey sandwiches for supper may just do the trick buddy......... :0)
Have a soothing cup of organic loose leaf chamomile tea ~ this could be the
sleep remedy you need too?
The tea bag and commercial varieties of herbal teas such as chamomile tea could
never be of any therapeutic value as they have had so much of the essential oils
pulverised from them .......... only organic will do buddy ?
Also, try putting a few drops of pure essential lavender oil into a warm bath
and soak in that for 15 minutes just before bedtime ~ the lavender oil is a
great natural stress reliever and will relax you enormously ?
Have you tried 1mg of melatonin sublingually (dissolved under the tongue as
opposed to tablet form??) 15 minutes before bedtime?any good health food store
will be able to provide you with all these things?
Naturally resolving the problem will always be the best way .... :0)
hope this helps you a bit ?
cheers
?
Thanx buddy, drink water water water and ditch the sodas and soft drinks
......... ;0)

"Foods rich in Tryptophan will help induce natural sleep "
MYTH
Popular belief, but has not proven to be true. Report It
How many caffeinated drinks do you pound down every day? If you are drinking
energy drinks to get you going in the morning, then drinking caffeinated pop all
day long, that's your answer. People yoyo between caffeine then try other drugs
to get to sleep. If you would wean yourself off of the caffeine, once the
inevitable headaches subside, you would find it much easier to fall asleep and
stay asleep.
the homeopathic remedy "Calms Forte" might be helpful. it's available at most
drug stores, as well as health stores. acupuncture can also be very effective.
Hold your horses. Calm down. Even a Rolls-Royce engine gets tired in this speed.
Relaxation, cup of warm milk and meditation should help.
Kill the TV. Electronics within an hour of bedtime can often create more
stimulation than relaxation. Also, does your shower wake you up or relax you? I
can't shower at night because the warm water really makes me alert.
Also, in the LA area there's a chain of dollar stores (99c Only Stores) that
carry an herbal product called Kava Kava. It's a great relaxant and helps you
doze off and stay there.
Another way to help your brain shut off so you can get to sleep is to recite a
list of something or some other memorized piece. Do you know the elements of the
periodic table, or the Books of the Bible, or the capitals of all 50 states, or
any list like that? If not, can you recite anything that takes you about 10
minutes to say? If you're Christian, try learning and reciting Romans 8 or I Cor
13. Both are really good for this. Very quietly and slowly recite this piece or
list. Concentrate on it. This will help your brain out of its
gotta-get-everything-done-right-NOW cycle and into relaxation mode. Try it for a
week and see if it helps.

Is there any way to force a family member into drug rehab in the state of Maryland?
I know that in Florida they have
something called the Marchman Act and I was wondering if there is anything like
that in Maryland. I have a VERY CLOSE family member who has gotten hooked on
Crack cocaine and I am terrified for her and my whole family. She knows that she
needs to go to rehab, but keeps stalling. Some of her excuses were valid, but
those circumstances have long passed and there always seems to be a new excuse
to delay her from getting help. I am losing my mind! I stress about this from
the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. Her drug problem is tormenting me
and the rest of my family! Is'nt there any way that a family member can have
someone forced into treatment or at least evaluated? I know it can be done if
someone is suicidal or homicidal, but what about for severe drug addiction?
In Maryland you can file an Emergency Evaluation Petition (EEP) and the person
will be taken by the police to the hospital for examination and drug tests and
she can be hospitalized. One of my family members killed himself recently in
Maryland bc he couldn't get off crack, and the last I heard 1 in 4 crack users
does it so I would really try to get her some help.
It depends on her age I think. I don't know too much about it, but keep on
trying. Don't give them money or let them control you. Its hard to stay strong
during this, but know and have faith she will get the help she needs. Pray,
pray, pray. God bless you.

Period help! Please answer quickly!!!!!?
I
just turned 14 on Friday. I got my first period in Oct. (7 months ago). It been
irregular. It came on March 28th, and lasted for 24 days (till April 20th), but
it was mostly really light. It didn't come again until yesterday, and it was
light/normal until about noon yesterday. It was really really heavy...like using
a tampon every 30 minutes (regular size).
During the night, my mom stayed with me, and gave me super tampons. Super
tampons lasted about an hour, and from 3:50 am until 9:30 am, a super tampon
lasted, and that was about all the sleep I got. I then had to change super
tampons at 10:00 am, 10:30 am, 11:00, 1:30, 4:00, 6:00, 7:30 (regular tampon),
8:15. This is always with a pad and I changed about 15 minutes after the tampon
started to leak.
If it hasn't slowed down by tomorrow, my mom's going to take me to a doctor. But
for now, how can I get some sleep?
Help please???? Tips for not having to get up every hour at night, make it
lighter, etc. Thanks!
Usually it takes between a year to a year and a half for periods to become
regulated. During this time it is quite normal to experience period
abnormalities. However, changing one or more pads or tampons in an hour or less
is considered excessive bleeding and needs to be seen by a doctor immediately as
this can lead to anemia. So I would make a trip to the ER if the bleeding is
excessive, rather than waiting to see your regular doctor in person. Quite
possibly you have a hormonal imbalance. In this case a doctor would check your
levels via blood test, and give you something to stop the bleeding.
If you wanna sleep, use pads. Buy the really big overnight Maxi ones. You have
to keep changing a tampon every few hours anyway so you won't get toxic shock
syndrome or an infection, but with pads you don't have to worry about any of
that!
They feel a little bit weird, especially the big ones, just to let you know. But
it's the only way you can sleep for a long time without getting up. It's not
recommended to wear tampons while asleep anyway.
First, this is pretty normal for girls when they began menstruating. Second,
avoid ibuprofen (as it caues bleeding), and avoid a lot of physical exertion.
In my opinion, take a bath,Tylenol P.M., and go to bed. See a gyn. tomorrow, and
consider starting the pill which will regulate your flow.
Best of luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of menstruation! Ha.
I think your mom should make an appt for you asap...tell her to call first thing
tomorrow morning. Chances are your doc will put you on some sort of oral
contraceptive (birth control) to stop the flow.
I don't have any immediate relief to add to the mix, but to put a big-thick,
extra long overnight pad on and sleep with a thick towel underneath you.
well i went to the doctor yesterday and she said that usually when you first get
your period, it starts off irregular. u shouldnt keep changing ur tampon too
much. my mom says to try to stay with one, and only if its really really heavy.
like it takes up the WHOLE tampon. thats the best advice i can give u
Hmm. I've had that problem.
Try eating fruit. That usually helps.
Even taking an ibuprofen or midol really slows it down.
To not get up every hour I'dsay try to not think about it.
Or take the pills as I said earlier.
I hope this helps and it gets better!
Go to the doctor!! and u can try wearing both at the same time (it may work but
b kinda uncomfertable) or u can wear a diaper ( not kidding) just lik an adult
diapper so u can least get sum rest , sry bout the last 1 but hey it may help
untill u go 2 the doctor goodluck! =]
You need a doctor now, right now..please go!!
DO NOT TAKE TYLENOL OR ASPIRIN> THIS WILL CAUSE YOU TO BLEED MORE>DON'T APPLY
HEAT
I'm a nurse, take my word for it and go. You've lost too much blood for it to be
a regular period.
Well, you should try to take a hot bath. That always helps me. Or you could use
a heating pad. Try using a pad and lay on a towel? that might also help.
for the 1st year of ur period it will skip around alot. eventually it will
become regular but fo now dont worry. its super normal.
Well usually the first year or so it will be kind of irregular. but that sounds
like unusually irregular!!!
you shouldnt be bleeding that much, see a doctor, NOW! have your mom take you to
the emergency room.
You need to go to the doctor - NOW! Don't wait until tomorrow!
That doesnt sound right, go to the doctor.
just wait till doctor nothin else u can do

Breathing the right way during Sex.......Yes I do breath, but there is a better way to do so..?
just relax and remember to
take regular breaths.
it's sex. do whatever comes naturally, seriously.
I know this doesn't actually answer your question but thats because i think your
better off just doing what you do
take regular breaths.
