Im wondering if I should tell the doctor that the Adderall XR 20mg she prescribed me isn't working and to possibly make my dosing higher. She switched me from the high dose of Concerta 72mg to Adderall XR 20mg because the Concerta lost its effectiveness. She also prescribed the immediate Adderall 10mg to take when I felt like the Adderall XR20mg was wearing off but I will take one of those and not feel it working and I'm back to my none focused scattered self again. So I started taking two 20mg xrs and still feel like it isn't doing anything or working anymore. Whats the deal!?
If you feel Adderall XR 20 mg is not working we have two options
Options number 1: Consult your Psychiatrist and she may increase the dose . Usually 1mg/kg body weight is the dose. It is usual strategy to put 2/3 rd of dose in XR form and 1/3 in immediate release form.
Option number 2 : Drug Holiday , You may find this drugs not working for your ADHD and drug holiday (taking no adderall for few days) will restore the efficacy of the drugs.
